4A District 2 recap October 22, 2013
Ada extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 2 this week by beating Glenpool, 29-27. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Cougars.
Mannford made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,101 from 6,070. The advance stemmed from a 43-37 victory over McLoud last week.
Isiah Shaputis was the best receiver in the league this week as Douglass bested Santa Fe South. Shaputis racked up 2 receptions for 79 yards. Brian Williams helped Douglass' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 40 yards.
The Trojans' Patrick McKaufman and Shaputis led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback McKaufman has thrown for 1,518 yards this season, while Shaputis has 21 catches for 538 yards. Tyler Gibson from the Pirates leads the league in rushing with 1,160 yards.
An important game coming up in 4A District 2 this week will be when Harrah takes on Ada. As it stands, the Panthers are in third, while Matt Weber's team is in second.
Harrah led the league in scoring this week by notching 50 points on Tecumseh.
