Pleasant Valley has gone a perfect 10-0 against Shasta recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Vikings will host the Wolves at 2:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pleasant Valley has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Shasta will arrive with four straight wins.

Chico hit Pleasant Valley with a six-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Pleasant Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Borges, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Scotty McKeown was another, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Shasta won against Nevada Union last Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went the Wolves' way against Lassen as they made off with an 11-5 victory.

Shasta got a massive performance out of Jack Peterson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave Peterson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Boesiger, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Shasta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.

Pleasant Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Shasta, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

Pleasant Valley took their victory against Shasta in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
