The Corry Beavers were the 39-14 winner over the Titusville Rockets when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Corry fell 28-21 to Titusville on Friday.
Corry's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nolan Carey, who rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 220 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Rylan Smith, who picked up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Leading Titusville to victory were Kameron Mong and Jaxon Covell. Mong rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, while Covell rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Covell hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games.
Corry's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Titusville, North East, and General McLane. As for Titusville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Corry will take on Meadville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Titusville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
