Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Pickens' Fourth in Last Five Outings

Pickens saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Gordon Central Warriors.

Among those leading the charge was Sophia Derstine, who had five digs and two aces. What's more, she racked up 20 assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

Derstine wasn't the only good server: Pickens was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gordon Central only served one ace.

Pickens is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Gordon Central, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Pickens didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Sonoraville on the 16th. As for Gordon Central, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Adairsville on the 16th.
