The Orosi Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Orosi focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
Even though Orange Cove scored an imposing 63 points, Orosi still came out on top. Orosi snuck past the Titans with a 68-63 victory.
Bryant Gomez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 34 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ramiro Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wonderful College Prep Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 92-37 loss at the hands of Corcoran. While losing is never fun, Wonderful College Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1417th, while the Panthers are ranked 438th).
Orosi has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-19 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Orosi against the Wolves when the teams last played last Monday as the squad secured a 66-22 victory. With Orosi ahead 37-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
