The Columbia Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Buchholz 47-41. While losing is never fun, Columbia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 449th, while Buchholz is ranked 82nd).
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zamarion Jones, who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Justice Kelly, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Columbia bumped their record down to 1-3 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Buchholz, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will take on Orange Park at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Buchholz will be home for the holidays to greet Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
