It was fun while it lasted, but Independence Home School's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Saturday. They took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aidan Vanderhorst, who posted 15 points. Joe Young was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Independence Home School's loss ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.

Independence Home School will host Frontier STEM at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Independence Home School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 79-64 defeat against Mid-Pacific Institute on the 14th.
