Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfax). They put the hurt on the Metro Tech Knights with a sharp 29-19 victory on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Stampede sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Emma Saiz made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs.
In other batting news, Nia Hardin was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Ashlyn Olson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Fairfax kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in four consecutive matchups.
