Basketball Recap: North Skates Past North Canyon with Ease

North won the last time they faced North Canyon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The North Mustangs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the North Canyon Rattlers 67-28. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 23 points or more this season.

North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Esefani Brunson led the charge by going 7-for-15 on her way to 14 points along with seven boards and five steals. Xxylina Flores was another key player, going 6-for-15 en route to 15 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 19 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

North's record now sits at 20-4. As for North Canyon, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Coming up, North will be playing in front of their home fans against McClintock at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. North's defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so McClintock's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for North Canyon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-32 defeat against Youngker on the 7th.
