The Unioto Shermans came tearing into Saturday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 75-36 victory over Southeastern. Unioto might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine matchups by 34 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Unioto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mya Hamilton, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Hamilton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amaris Betts, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Unioto's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Southeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unioto will square off against Paint Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Paint Valley has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11. As for Southeastern, they will head out on the road to face off against Wellston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Southeastern is ranked 221st).
