Baseball Recap: Glendale's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Glendale barely beat Independence the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals blew past the Patriots 21-11 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Glendale got a massive performance out of Ezekiel Trujillo, who went 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Trujillo a new career-high. Leonardo Raygoza was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Glendale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Glendale back to even at 6-6. As for Independence, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10-1.

Coming up, Glendale will square off against McClintock at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to square off against Ironwood at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.61 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
