Adding to the longest winning streak in 2A District 8 this week, Commerce beat Salina 30-15. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Tigers.
Kansas made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,863 from 8,670. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 33-0 victory over Wyandotte last week.
Commerce's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Blake Jameson threw for 108 yards and Diego Ybarra had 57 yards receiving. On the ground DC Chance contributed 178 yards. Seth Roberts helped Commerce's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 29 yards.

Chance was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers beat Salina.
The Comets' Logan Blaine and Tracy Pruitt led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-8 quarterback Blaine has thrown for 808 yards this season, while Pruitt has 14 catches for 367 yards. Chance from Commerce leads the league in rushing with 1,677 yards.
The Tigers' offense has racked up 329 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Colcord has allowed only 59 on the year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Commerce takes on the Hornets. The Tigers are in first place, while Colcord is in third place.
