The Marshall Phoenix entered their tilt with the City Arts and Leadership Academy Hawks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Marshall was the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over the Hawks.
Marshall was led to victory by Robert Fields and Martel Peters. Fields scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Peters dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fields has scored at least a third of Marshall's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Aceves, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Marshall has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-11 record this season. As for City Arts and Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. City Arts and Leadership Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Dolphins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
