Crimson Cliffs is 0-8 against Pine View since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Pine View Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Crimson Cliffs is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Crimson Cliffs suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Hurricane by a score of 55-52. Crimson Cliffs has struggled against Hurricane recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alyssa Whittaker, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Summer Adams was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pine View scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They secured a 48-42 W over Cedar. The victory was all the more spectacular given Pine View's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Cedar is ranked 16th).
Crimson Cliffs bumped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Pine View, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12.
Crimson Cliffs couldn't quite finish off Pine View when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 62-60. Thankfully for Crimson Cliffs, Avery Gustin (who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
