Winston Prep were the 61-35 winner over the Lexington School for the Deaf Blue Jays when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Winston Prep fell 54-41 to the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Winston Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lexington School for the Deaf's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cristhian De La Cruz, who scored 19 points along with four steals. De La Cruz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Hunter Larsen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Winston Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lexington School for the Deaf, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Winston Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Blue Jays on February 26th. As for Lexington School for the Deaf, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
