Pine Bluff scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 75-40 victory over Watson Chapel. Given Pine Bluff's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Watson Chapel is ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Gonzaga's and St. Joseph's game on Wednesday was close at halftime, but Gonzaga turned on the heat in the second half with 40 points. Everything went Gonzaga's way against St. Joseph as Gonzaga made off with a 68-48 victory. The result was nothing new for Gonzaga, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Pine Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Gonzaga, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
