The Millburn Millers will head out on the road to challenge North Star Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Millburn has six straight wins, North Star Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Millburn didn't have too much trouble with University on the road as they won 70-51. Given Millburn's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while University is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Zach Benmorits, who scored 35 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chase Plotkin, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, North Star Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Sunday as they fell 51-45 to Hyde.
Millburn's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for North Star Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Millburn came up short against North Star Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 60-50. Can Millburn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
