St. John Paul II Academy walked away with a 78-69 victory over King's Academy. For St. John Paul II Academy, this counts as revenge for the 55-42 defeat King's Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
St. John Paul II Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rowan Linder led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cristian Rosado, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
St. John Paul II Academy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for King's Academy, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Paul II Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cardinal Newman at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Cardinal Newman is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for King's Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against John Carroll Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
