Argonaut has gone 9-1 against Bret Harte recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will challenge the Bullfrogs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Bret Harte will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Argonaut extended their winning streak to five last Wednesday. The Mustangs came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Amador. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since May 14, 2024.
Hailey Dewald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailey Baker was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Bret Harte rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Bruins 6-4.
Bret Harte also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Madison Kane gave up four earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaliana Erdman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Mariah Colwell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Argonaut pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Bret Harte, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.
Bret Harte's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Argonaut hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Bret Harte, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Argonaut's hitters?
Argonaut beat Bret Harte 6-3 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
