The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Cissna Park. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won four in a row.
ANDERSON THOMAS made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). THOMAS was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CADEN KELEMINIC, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was CHAZ DUBOIS, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Armstrong made sure to put some runs up on the board against Schlarman on Friday. The Trojans blew past the Hilltoppers 15-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Like Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, Armstrong also got a great game from a two-way player: Ryan Edwards. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Edwards has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Bowen Hesterberg was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. Traxton Roberts was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Armstrong's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Armstrong struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
