The Morristown Yellow Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. The matchup between Morristown and North Decatur wasn't particularly close, with Morristown falling 52-34. While losing is never fun, Morristown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while North Decatur is ranked 165th).
Morristown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Colin Kieninger, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of William Snyder, who scored five points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Leading North Decatur to victory were Chase Youngman and Kaden Muckerheide. Youngman scored 16 points, while Muckerheide scored 13 points along with six assists and five steals. Muckerheide has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Owen Eldridge was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Morristown's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for North Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Morristown will be playing in front of their home fans against Edinburgh at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Edinburgh is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for North Decatur, they will take on Batesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Batesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Saturday.
