Alpine is 9-1 against Presidio since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Alpine Bucks will head out on the road to take on the Presidio Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. Alpine will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Alpine ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Kermit 67-65. The score was all tied up 32-32 at the break, but Alpine was the better team in the second half.
Meanwhile, Presidio earned a 47-38 win over Stanton last Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Presidio.
Alpine's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points per game. As for Presidio, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Alpine won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January, slipping by Presidio 51-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alpine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
