Faith Christian hasn't had much luck against Rocky Mount Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Patriots will welcome the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Faith Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Arendell Parrott Academy on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Faith Christian.

Payton Whitley and Peyton Hagans made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Whitley tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hagans tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Whitley posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. At bat, Whitley went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Hagans got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Whitley has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Vann, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzie Camp, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Faith Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mount Academy entered their tilt with Pungo Christian Academy two weeks ago with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Raiders 10-1. Considering the Eagles have won five games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Berkeley Miller made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Katie Bulluck was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Martha Calhoun was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Rocky Mount Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Faith Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Both Faith Christian and Rocky Mount Academy just can't seem to miss. The Patriots have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Rocky Mount Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
