They were beaten by Dove Creek 65-31. Ridgway has struggled against Dove Creek recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Ridgway's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Miller, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Sophia Scranton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Ridgway bumped their record down to 4-5 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Dove Creek, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgway's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mancos at 12:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Dove Creek, they will challenge Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Monticello is ranked 125th in Utah, while Dove Creek is ranked 128th in Colorado).
