Pace Academy is 3-0 against the Lions since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pace Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Luella Lions at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Pace Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 contests.
Pace Academy put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Lovett as Pace Academy made off with a 68-43 win. Given Pace Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Lions are ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eric Chatfield continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. He hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Kyle Greene was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and four steals.
Luella won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a serious blow against McDonough, falling 84-54.
Pace Academy pushed their record up to 21-3 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.9 points. As for Luella, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
Everything went Pace Academy's way against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January as the Knights made off with a 63-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pace Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
