Todd Dodge has done it all when it comes to coaching high school football in Texas. He was named the
MaxPreps Coach of the Year last season after leading
Westlake (Austin) to a 14-0 record and 6A Division 1 state championship. The Chaparrals finished the year ranked at No. 3 in the
MaxPreps Top 25.
In 2019, the Chaps went 15-1 and won the 6A Division 2 state title. It was the school's first state championship since Drew Brees led them to a 5A Division 2 title in 1996.
Dodge is entering his eighth season as head coach at Westlake. Loaded with talent including Clemson-bound quarterback

Jaden Greathouse, the program checked in at No. 4 in the preseason
MaxPreps Top 25.
Since taking over for at Westlake, Dodge has led the program to an 88-11 record and will carry a 24-game win streak into the 2021 season. He is entering his 23rd season as a head coach overall with stops at C.H. Yoe (Cameron), Newman Smith (Carrollton), and Fossil Ridge (Keller) before taking over at Southlake Carroll (Southlake) in 2000.
During his seven years as head coach for the Dragons he led them a 98-11 record. From 2002-06 they posted a 79-1 record and won four state titles in five years.
After his successful run at Southlake Carroll he took a job as head coach at the University of North Texas, going 6-37 from 2007-10. He spent one year at the University of Pittsburgh as quarterbacks coach in 2011 before returning to high school.
He spent two years as the head coach at Marble Falls before taking over at Westlake in 2014.
Dodge is trying to do something that hasn't been done since Kyler Murray led Allen to three consecutive state titles from 2012-14 and that is win three straight UIL championships in the largest classification.
Westlake opens the 2021 season Aug. 27 against Temple and also have notable games lined up against No. 71 Trinity (Euless) on Sept. 3 and close out the regular season hosting No. 41 Lake Travis (Austin).
