Central is a perfect 10-0 against Pensacola since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Central Jaguars face off against Pensacola Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.2 runs per game this season.

Central easily dispatched Laurel Hill on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Central fell just short of Freeport by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Jaguars have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Addie Holland was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Holland wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Pensacola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Pine Forest, falling 16-4.

Pensacola saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Jauncey, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. Pensacola's record is now 2-9.

Pensacola's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Pensacola, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Central keep running through batters, or will Pensacola buck the trend?

Central took their win against Pensacola when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 29-1. Will Central repeat their success, or does Pensacola has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
