Softball Recap: Mcminnville's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

McMinnville lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Forest Grove, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Grizzlies never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

MacKenzie Roberts tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Laney Reed was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Taylor Terry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win (which was McMinnville's fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Forest Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. McMinnville is set to take on their familiar foe Glencoe at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Grizzlies 3.2, the Crimson Tide 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Forest Grove will challenge rival Newberg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
