The Southern Wayne Saints will challenge the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Southern Wayne proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Fike 11-10. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won five in a row.

Tyler Odom was excellent, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason McKee, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for C.B. Aycock, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let Smithfield-Selma get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Golden Falcons yet this season.
Ty Swenson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Janeson Steele, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Zay Cora was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
C.B. Aycock hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smithfield-Selma struck out eight times.
C.B. Aycock's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Southern Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Southern Wayne took their win against C.B. Aycock when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-3. Will Southern Wayne repeat their success, or does C.B. Aycock has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
