The Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Trinity 46-28. Given Elkhart Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Trinity is ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aiden Hibbard was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Maliki Redmond was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Elkhart Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Trinity, they bumped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhart Christian Academy will take on Lakeland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lakeland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday. As for Trinity, they will head out on the road to challenge Smith Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
