Notre Dame Prep strolled past the Huskies with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 52-33. Given Notre Dame Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Huskies are ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Notre Dame Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Nowak led the charge by scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Nowak hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ayla Keefe, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Horizon still got an impressive performance from Mia Brown, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Noel Gallegos was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Notre Dame Prep's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3. As for Horizon, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.
