Basketball Recap: Greensburg Sets Scoring Season-High Against Madison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greensburg). They came out on top against the Madison Cubs by a score of 74-64 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won six games in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greensburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Mckinsey, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Mckinsey has become a key player for Greensburg: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least 15 points, but 4-5 otherwise. Jacoby Miller was another key player, going 8-for-12 on his way to 19 points.

Greensburg's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Madison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Looking ahead, Greensburg will challenge Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Greensburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Madison, they will square off against Columbus East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison is facing Columbus East at the right time seeing as Columbus East is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
