After losing to the Lake Ridge Academy Royals the last time they met, the Lawrence Upper Lions decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Lawrence Upper sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Lake Ridge Academy on Wednesday.
Lawrence Upper found their leader in underclassman Guy Caster, who scored 26 points. That's the first time this season that Caster scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Carmichael, who scored 13 points.
Lawrence Upper's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lake Ridge Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence Upper is on the road again on Friday and play against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Lake Ridge Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Normandy at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th.
