On Saturday, Campbell strolled past Butler with points to spare, taking the game 54-35.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Campbell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Phillip, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Phillip grabbed two or more steals. Brooke Suttle was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Butler's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karen Nimo, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brayla Harris, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Campbell's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Butler, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Campbell's road trip will continue as they head out to face Greenforest at 9:30 a.m. on January 15th. Greenforest is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. As for Butler, they will face off against Westside at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Westside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Butler in their respective states (Westside is ranked 15th in South Carolina, while Butler is ranked 102nd in Georgia).
