Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Calhoun walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dupo Tigers a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Warriors have won 16 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Audrey Gilman's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 24 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kiera Sievers was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Lilly Pelletier also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Calhoun and bumps their season record up to 21-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Dupo, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-10.
As of now, neither Calhoun nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
