Two dominant signal callers in London Morgan and Kaleb McDougle are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Rouse Raiders will square off against the Georgetown Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rouse has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Georgetown will arrive with three straight wins.
On Friday, Rouse came up short against Cedar Park and fell 48-35.
Despite their loss, Rouse saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Anthony Reyes, who rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubryn Davis, who gained 107 total yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Rouse's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Adrian Agbasoga, Ethan Wallace, and Tyler Miller, who each picked up one sack apiece. Rouse got some further help from Agbasoga: he picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Georgetown against Chaparral on Thursday as the squad secured a 56-7 victory. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than 26 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Rouse better keep an eye on Jett Walker. He was instrumental in Georgetown's win, rushing for 153 yards on only 12 carries. Walker's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Georgetown also got help from Xavier Warren, who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.
Georgetown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaparral only rushed for 146.
Georgetown's record now sits at 4-1. As for Rouse, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Rouse took a serious blow against Georgetown in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 42-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Walker, who rushed for 253 yards and four scores while picking up 12.0 yards per carry. Now that the Raiders know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
