The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Maroons as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Blackwell let Andrew Young and Eyzic Burke run wild. Young went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Burke went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Burke has become a key player for Blackwell: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-18 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tanner Ward, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs.
