Softball Recap: Salem Has No Trouble Against Dixon

The Salem Tigers got the win against the Dixon Bulldogs on Tuesday by a conclusive 20-9. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Alaina Norris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Norris was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reagan DuBois, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3.4 RBI per game. Another player making a difference was Taylor Fulton, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Salem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .574 or higher in three consecutive games.

Salem now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Dixon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will host Cabool at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Dixon, they will face off against Licking at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
