North Hollywood hasn't had much luck against Arleta recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Huskies will take on the Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
North Hollywood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Roosevelt as they made off with a 20-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won 13 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Giada Pedone-Valencia was a standout: she fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 4 RBI per game. Another player making a difference was Leela Adams, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Hollywood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Arleta never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Orthopaedic. The Mustangs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 13-0).
BRENDA AGUILAR made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on BRYGETTE RAYGOZA, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. ERIDEE GOMEZ also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
North Hollywood is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.9 runs over those games. As for Arleta, their record is now 10-15.
Arleta's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. North Hollywood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Arleta, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will North Hollywood keep running through batters, or will the Mustangs buck the trend?
North Hollywood might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Arleta when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
