Softball Recap: Covington Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Covington's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Halls Tigers 8-0. Considering the Chargers have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Kinslee Hamm, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Halls off the board. Hamm has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madi Hamm, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Lyla Harrell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Covington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Halls struck out eight times.

Covington moved to 9-10-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Halls, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Covington has already played their next matchup (against Obion County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Halls, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-0 victory against Bradford on the 28th.
