Riverheads had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Bath County 49-6. That result is just more of the same for Riverheads, who also won the last time these teams played.
Riverheads's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Bath County couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 28-0 heading into the break. The other side of the ball continued to do well for Riverheads in the second half and held Bath County to 6 points. The win got Riverheads back to even at 0-0. The loss dropped Bath County's record to 1-0.
Riverheads will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Stuarts Draft at 7:00 PM. As for Bath County, they will face off against Grace Christian.
