The Brunswick Pirates entered their tilt with the Effingham County Rebels with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Brunswick snuck past the Rebels with a 63-58 victory on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Brunswick's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Craig Battle, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Battle is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kavon Hill, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Brunswick's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Effingham County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brunswick will challenge the Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Grovetown will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Effingham County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Terrors at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Glynn Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully the Rebels likes a good challenge.
