Fort Davis is 0-10 against the Eagles since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Fort Davis Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Van Horn Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Fort Davis is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Fort Davis took a serious blow against the Bears, falling 62-23.
Meanwhile, Van Horn sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-27 victory over the Shorthorns on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van Horn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Martinez, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Malia Bermudez, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Fort Davis has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Van Horn, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8.
Fort Davis lost to the Eagles on the road by a decisive 47-28 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Fort Davis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
