The Mansfield Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Centerpoint 57-22 at home. Considering Mansfield has won eight contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
When it comes to explaining why Centerpoint lost, one person who can't be blamed is Beau McGough. Despite the final result, he rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Mansfield, bringing their record for this year to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.5 points per game. As for Centerpoint, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Mansfield will take on Hoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hoxie's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last eight contests. Centerpoint does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
