Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Fillmore Central's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Fillmore Central lost to Centennial back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Fillmore Central Panthers managed a 55-51 victory over the Centennial Broncos. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fillmore Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joey Stoner, who went 5 of 12 en route to 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiffin Theobald, who posted 14 points and eight boards.

Despite the loss, Centennial still got an impressive performance from Devin Slawnyk, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. Slawnyk is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Sam Ehlers was another key player, putting up six points.

Fillmore Central is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Fillmore Central will challenge Tri County at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Fillmore Central is facing Tri County at the right time seeing as Tri County is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to take on Thayer Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
