The Edna Karr Cougars's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Albany Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Edna Karr has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-2 during that stretch of close contests.
On Saturday, Edna Karr sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 victory over Franklin Parish.
Edna Karr found their leader in underclassman Cass Antoine, who scored 27 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Antoine has scored at least 25% of Edna Karr's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Hartford, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Albany was able to grind out a solid win over Glen Oaks on Tuesday, taking the game 57-46. Given Albany's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Glen Oaks is ranked 174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Edna Karr's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Albany, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Edna Karr was dealt a bruising 56-16 loss at the hands of Albany in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Edna Karr avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
