It was a good run, but Fruita Monument unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-match winning streak on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Durango Demons. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Demons earlier this season, when they won 3-1.
While Fruita Monument ultimately came up short, they really made Durango work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20.
Cambelle Brammer paced Fruita Monument's offense, picking up 14 kills. Brammer got some help from Parker Clarke and her 43 assists. Kaleigh Klouzek and Hannah Kiser kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Fruita Monument's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Durango, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-12.
