It was another big night for Hunter Roark, who went 12-for-21 en route to 34 points along with eight assists and six boards. He has become a key player for Stargate School: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight assists, but 6-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rusch, who posted 18 points.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Peak to Peak, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-49 win over Jefferson Academy on Thursday. The Pumas pushed the score to 52-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.
Peak to Peak's win came from a few key players Stargate School will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Elijah Eschmeyer, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 19 points and three steals. What's more, he also posted a 71% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Tysen Burton was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.
Roark wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Peak to Peak was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson Academy only seven assists.
Peak to Peak pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points over those games. As for Stargate School, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Stargate School suffered a grim 85-62 defeat to Peak to Peak in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Peak to Peak's Dane Hirt, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points along with six boards and three steals. Now that Stargate School knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
