Villa Park (Calif.) to a 50-34 victory over
El Dorado (Placentia, Calif.) on Saturday as the return units contributed one touchdowns. The Spartans's special teams scored on a kick return.
Villa Park was up 43-7 at the half after taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by
Justin Mottram in the first quarter.
Anthony Piscitelli made a difference for the Golden Hawks. The senior wide receiver caught two touchdowns.
Meki Tafuna played well for VP in the victory. The senior ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 15 touchdowns on the season.
A 59-7 Villa Park victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for El Dorado, which notched a 42-39 victory over El Modena in its previous outing. The loss snapped El Dorado's 3-game winning streak. With the win Villa Park extended its winning streak to four games.
El Dorado (4-4) will play a Century game against Foothill next week, while Villa Park (6-1) will take on Brea Olinda also in a Century game.
