Baseball Recap: Northwest Rankin Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hillcrest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest Rankin). They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Hillcrest Jaguars on Saturday.

JM Moore looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Jackson Meehan was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Peeples, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Northwest Rankin's victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Rankin will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against West Monroe at 1:00 p.m. on March 8th. Hillcrest will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Georgiana at 4:00 p.m. on March 17th.
